My name is Matthew E. Parrott, I am a Christian who feels called to Discipleship. This blog is a mixture of Family Updates, Ministry Events, as well as a collection of thoughts that go through my mind, this series is called Matthew’s Mind. Hopefully you find the topics covered as balanced, relevant, and thought provoking.

Our Story I am a 33 year old married father of 5.  I enjoy spending time with my wife & four kids, watching the Indianapolis Colts & Notre Dame football games, reading, being active, and spending way to much time surfing the internet. My wife and I were married just a few short days before the terrible September 11, attacks. I graduated with a Bible and Ministry degree from Bethel College in Indiana. We spent the first several years of our marriage working as servers at Das Dutchman Essenhaus, which is one of the largest restaurants (and tourist attractions) in Indiana while paying off over $30k in student loan debt and $15k in car debt. Today we own two paid for vehicles, a paid for rental house and we are debt free except our home.

After spending nearly five years in sales with TruGreen, Centennial Wireless, and iPCS Wireless (an affiliate of Sprint), my family and I felt God leading us to move to Branson, MO for a year, were I took Bible classes, went through a leadership training program, and worked for Doulos Ministries, a Christian non-profit, residential care facility as a Big Brother. After that year we moved back to our hometown of South Bend, IN. In June of 2010 we moved to Florida to be a part of the Orlando House Of Prayer Missions Base (OHOP).  At OHOP I completed a six month internship while being a full-time Intercessory Missionary, which means I spent most of my time at OHOP praying for Justice Ministries like the Abortion, Human Trafficking, the Sex Industry, as well as current events on the local, state, and national levels.

In March of 2011 the Lord again had us on the move, re-locating to Tipton, IN. I have helped build a website for businesses, churches, and ministries, including helping Mark Virkler of Communion with God Ministries and Christian Leadership University on his ministry website. I am also the owner of SquawkTalkWireless.com, an online store for cell phone service, buying, selling, and trading cell phones, as well as upgrading, activating, and purchasing prepaid and contract cell phone service.

This blog is one of the outlets for using the gifts and talents that God has given. me. By nature I am very analytical and I desire to teach as well as discuss, relevant topics with other Christians. We will cover controversial topics on this blog, it’s my hope we can have respectful conversations with each other. It is never my intent to provoke or offend for the sake of gaining viewers or attention.

The Mission To encourages Christians to think critically about relevant topics that we face everyday. In addition I desire to see a community of readers who are eager to discuss and think critically about the major issues facing Christians today. Everyday I have several things that I spend big chunks of time turning over in my head. These topics and more are what I hope to white about. Specifically, these topics include, but are not limited to, careers, faith, finance, fitness, and relationships.
